Thala's Biography
- Ajith was born on 1st May 1971 in a middle class Family in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh. His parents are P. Subramaniam and Mohini, he has two brothers Anoop Kumar elder brother who lives in New York and younger brother Anil Kumar who is working in Seattle.
- He dropped out of School in 1986 worked as a bike mechanic. Later he developed interest in racing and invested lot of hard earned money into racing. Expanding his small business he supplied raw materials to a garment company but his racing thrist for racing never faded. He used to borrow car tyres from his friends for racing.
- Ajith is the only Indian actor to participate in Formula championships. He raced in many contires like Germany, Malaysia etc. He raced in Formula 2 Championship in 2010.
- Unfortunately he had an accident in car racing and from that point of time he started modelling and later entered movies.
- Ajith made his film debut with telugu film Prema Pustakam in 1992 which was released in 1993 after his tamil movie Amaravathi. His initial blockbuster hit was Aasai in 1995 which was directed by Vasanth. After series of ups and downs in career he established himself strongly and now he is one among the highest paid actors in tamil film industry.
- After release of Amaravathi Ajith was severely injured whilst training an amateur motor race and he underwent 3 major surgeries which forced him to stay away from films for 18 months with complete bed rest.
- During filming of Amarkalam Ajith fell in love with his co-star Shalini and he proposed her in June 1999. They married in April 2000 in Chennai according to Hindu and Christian customs. The couple are blessed with a daughter, Anoushka born on 3rd Jan 2008.
